Afterward, when his role in the memory was over, it was almost like he walked out of it all with PTSD. SPOILER ALERT: There was a character in the story who was very naive upon his entry into the story and when he accessed his ancestors' memory, he ended up feeling all of the emotional pain and the exact thoughts racing through his ancestors' mind when he experienced being beaten by a group of racist thugs. SPOILER ALERT: That there were multiple Animus users that were able to access the same memory sync file due to the fact that all of their ancestors had crossed paths with one another within the same timeline. Our memories are filled with errors, interpretations, fears, desires and if you add in a measure of trauma, naivete and neglect then what actually happened and what one understands can be two vastly different things.
